A poem by me I realized didn’t already live on these pages
We Were Warriors Once…
I wish I knew where in time women lost our voices.
What event caused us to shrink away from our power?
We were warriors.
We were the life bearers.
We were healers and seers.
We were fierce.
We were brave.
We were wise.
Somewhere in time that was taken from us.
Generations before us accepted a role as inferiors.
They were told they were weak.
They were deceived into submission, even against their true nature.
I wish I could go to them and tell them to hold on to their strength.
I wish I could tell them to remain free.
